A friend invited us to sample a HongKong seafood restaurant in Desa Aman Puri, Kepong, a place where I havent ventured before.

It was quite an adventurous trip for us us as we discovered new makan places when we got lost to an unexplored territory.
There was this Restoran Soon Hock near to Sierra Mas .
As you come out from Kepong Plus Toll, head towards Sierra Mas, make a 4 o'clock turn at the small roundabout, follow the small road & you will find the shop there. It was also crowded. This was recommended to us by the locals there.
That will be our next target.

The chicken texture is smooth & tender and you can lick every drop of
the chicken stew.

Restoran Loon Sing (Nilai)

Hi Folks,

While sending my friend's son to Nottingham University in Semenyih on Sep 10, 2010, we headed to a much talk about Restoran Loon Sing in Nilai which is famous for their award winning Fuzhou dishes and "Fatt Tiew Cheong" being one of them .

The "Fatt Tiew Cheong" came with a hefty price tag at RM 99.00 per bowl and 3 of us shared out one bowl for food-tasting.

As we opened the bowl, the sweet scent began to permeate the air and the smell is as good as the taste which is as good as Ah Yat Seafood in PJ.

Next came the chef signature dish which is  Dongpo Pork and have to order in advance.
It is sweet, sticky and served with mantou.
Although there is half an inch of fat, it is firm and nice unlike char siew fat
which is soft. At RM 38, its worth a try.

We also  tried their Dim Sum which are fresh & tender.

Except for the "Fatt Tiew Cheong",  the rest of the food price is affordable but for the adventurous, the highest price for one table is RM 3030.00

Restuarant looked very posh.

Service is fast, efficient, friendly and ample parking lots.

Coffee Connexion & Vary Pasta (Damansara Jaya)

Hi Good Morning All,

An early morning breakfast delight to get your gastric juices gnawing -

Heard that  Chef Moe,  has a  picture of Anthony Bordaine - Astro 707 No Reservation Food Tourist there at Vary Pasta - just directly opposite Atria Kentucky Fried Chicken, so we headed there on a Friday night.

The place is crowded and has only about 10 tables.

It is popular for its Pork Knuckles but as we have to wait  for an hour, we turned back and headed to Coffee Connexion - just behind Vary Pasta , another food paradise for Curry & Assam Laksa and that place is popular for its Lo Mai Kai.

As we were placing our orders, we eyed at the next table a succulent fish head curry pot which was not in the menu and decided to order it.

We couldnt as it turned out to be the owner having his meal with the family and he was featured in the " Eating Out" column in The Star.

The owner was very nice and shared with us a portion of their tantilizing dish.

Now coming back to Vary Pasta, undeterred, we went back the following afternoon and discovered - No Reservation - No Pork Knuckles and also no reservation, you have to fight tooth & nail for a table. How apt for Anthony Bordaine's " No Reservation"

The Chef's wife was very pleasant and chatty as she took our orders.

She was apologetic as she was under staffed.

Since there was no pork knuckles, we tried their second best, mixed sausages.

Food is good if you dont mind waiting for an hour and order "sekali
gus" if you dont want to wait for another hour your reorders.
