Around Cheras and Shah Alam

Hi Folks

Well, sharing you some makan place and this morning, a friend took me to a Dim Sum Shop in Taman Midah, Cheras.

The shop is managed by a few Christians  and they worship in True Jesus Church in Taman Midah which is at the back of their shop.

1) Tung Jing ( Dim Sum) Restaurant
The Dim Sum is not too bad and there is a specialty bun " Por Lor"(pineapple) pau which it is only available during public holiday & Sunday.
Good for their Tom Yom Mee
The shop close on Saturday as its their sabbath day.

In front of the shop, they grew a bougainvilla and as Chinese belief, bougainvilla is not good for business as it has thorns which will eat away the fortune and its flowers like a wagging tongue and wide mouth with vomit but as Christians, they dispelled that.

Check it out  at 90, Jalan Midah1, Taman Midah, Kuala Lumpur
Tel : 03-91309978

2) Meng Kee Char Siew King ( Wong )

If you are in Shah Alam, head for Meng Kee Char Siew Wong, branch of Jalan Alor, Char Siew Wong
The lunch is crowded and full of people waiting to grab your seats.I couldnt wait but Tar Pau.

Restoran Tak Fok (Kepong) & Chong Toong Kee (TTDI)

Hi Folks,

A friend invited us to sample a HongKong seafood restaurant in Desa Aman Puri, Kepong, a place where I havent ventured before.

1) Restoran Tak Fok Seafood
2-2A, Jalan Desa, 1/3, Desa Aman Puri, Kepong
52100 Kuala Lumpur
Tel: 03-62723346

It was quite an adventurous trip for us us as we discovered new makan places when we got lost to an unexplored territory.

There was this Restoran Soon Hock near to Sierra Mas .
As you come out from Kepong Plus Toll, head towards Sierra Mas, make a 4 o'clock turn at the small roundabout, follow the small road & you will find the shop there. It was also crowded. This was recommended to us by the locals there.
That will be our next target.

2) Restoran Chong Toong Kee
18, Jalan Wan Kadir  ( ?) (hidden by plastered
advertisement)
Taman Tun Dr Ismail 60000 Kuala Lumpur
Behind IBM/Vads building opposite TTDI wet market.
Ipoh Hor Fun, Prawn wanton, chicken, taugey &
vegetables.
The chicken texture is smooth & tender and you can lick every drop of
the chicken stew.

Bon Appetit

Restoran Loon Sing (Nilai)

Hi Folks,

While sending my friend's son to Nottingham University in Semenyih on Sep 10, 2010, we headed to a much talk about Restoran Loon Sing in Nilai which is famous for their award winning Fuzhou dishes and "Fatt Tiew Cheong" being one of them .

The "Fatt Tiew Cheong" came with a hefty price tag at RM 99.00 per bowl and 3 of us shared out one bowl for food-tasting.

As we opened the bowl, the sweet scent began to permeate the air and the smell is as good as the taste which is as good as Ah Yat Seafood in PJ.

Next came the chef signature dish which is  Dongpo Pork and have to order in advance.
It is sweet, sticky and served with mantou.

Although there is half an inch of fat, it is firm and nice unlike char siew fat
which is soft. At RM 38, its worth a try.

We also  tried their Dim Sum which are fresh & tender.

Except for the "Fatt Tiew Cheong",  the rest of the food price is affordable but for the adventurous, the highest price for one table is RM 3030.00

Restuarant looked very posh.

Service is fast, efficient, friendly and ample parking lots.

Check it out at
Loon Sing Restaurant, Pt 2484, Kawasan Perindustrian Nilai 2, Block D,
71800 Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (same building as Nilai Convention Hall)
